Bokkie the Grysbok |
|
![]() |
If you have spent any time in Cape Town or
Western Cape, this face should be familiar to you. This is Bokkie, a Grysbok, a type of deer endemic to the Western Cape http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cape_Grysbok The signs have changed over the years with different "Bokkie Says" messages but pretty much always depicting a grysbok with a tear in his eye. He is reminding us how we messed up his life chucking stompies out the car windows, not putting out our braais properly or illegally making fires.
I urge you to read and relate this story to your children so they are reminded of it whenever they see Bokkie. Don't let Bokkie be just another fire warning sign on the side of the road & Help stop the scourge of veld fires that plague the western cape every summer.
